About Tour
This 12-day adventure takes riders through the cultural heart of Nepal and deep into the forbidden landscapes of Upper Mustang, culminating in a visit to the ancient walled city of Lo Manthang. Prepare for an epic challenge on two wheels!
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Kathmandu
Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM). You'll be warmly greeted and transferred to your hotel. The evening is reserved for the crucial Tour Briefing and the Bike Handover. Settle in and soak up the chaotic, vibrant energy of this ancient capital.
Day 2: Kathmandu to Pokhara (200 Kms)
Our first major ride takes us west on the Prithvi Highway. Expect sweeping views of the Trishuli River and the initial Himalayan foothills. This scenic route, though sometimes busy, is a perfect introduction to Nepalese road conditions, culminating in the serene, lakeside city of Pokhara.
Day 3: Pokhara Sightseeing & Sarangkot (Local 30 Kms)
The morning is dedicated to exploring Pokhara, perhaps a boat ride on Phewa Lake or a visit to the World Peace Pagoda. In the afternoon, we take a short, exhilarating ride up to Sarangkot, famous for its panoramic views. We stay overnight to catch a stunning sunset and the spectacular sunrise view of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges.
Day 4: Sarangkot to Lete (240 Kms)
The true mountain adventure begins! We leave Pokhara and ride north, following the mighty Kali Gandaki River. The roads become increasingly rugged and challenging as we push deep into the narrowest and deepest gorge in the world. Lete is a picturesque village offering up-close views of the towering Himalayan peaks.
Day 5: Lete to Muktinath (70 Kms)
A shorter distance, but an intensely challenging ride over extremely rough, rocky terrain and river crossings. We climb above the tree line to Muktinath, a sacred pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Buddhists, situated at over 3,700 meters. The day is rewarded with dramatic views and a stay at high altitude.
Day 6: Muktinath to Lo Manthang (60 Kms)
Today, we officially enter the restricted area of Upper Mustang (requires special permits). The landscape changes dramatically to barren, wind-swept high desert reminiscent of the Tibetan Plateau. The final destination is the ancient, walled capital, Lo Manthang, the home of the former Mustang King.
Day 7: Explore Lo Manthang (Local 30 Kms)
A rest day for the bikes and a deep dive into the history and culture of this unique Tibetan Buddhist enclave. We explore the ancient monasteries, the Royal Palace, and the narrow streets of this beautifully preserved fortified town. Witness a unique culture that has remained virtually untouched for centuries.
Day 8: Lo Manthang to Kagbeni (80 Kms)
We begin our southward journey, riding the challenging tracks back down through the Upper Mustang valley. Kagbeni is a medieval village located on the banks of the Kali Gandaki, acting as the historical gateway between Upper and Lower Mustang. It's a perfect blend of high-altitude desert and riverside charm.
Day 9: Kagbeni to Tatopani (100 Kms)
A long and demanding ride as we re-enter the main Kali Gandaki gorge. The tracks are rocky, dusty, and require focused riding. The day's reward is reaching Tatopani, famous for its natural hot springs (Tatopani means 'hot water' in Nepali). Enjoy a relaxing soak to soothe the muscles after days of challenging riding.
Day 10: Tatopani to Pokhara (100 Kms)
We leave the worst of the rough road behind. The tracks gradually give way to smoother roads as we approach the Pokhara Valley. The final stretch is a celebratory cruise, returning to the serenity of Phewa Lake. The evening is free to enjoy the lively lakeside cafes and reflect on the adventure just completed.
Day 11: Pokhara to Kathmandu (200 Kms)
Our final long-distance ride. We retrace our steps on the Prithvi Highway, enjoying the last views of the rivers and hills. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, we conduct the Bike Handover and hold a special Farewell Dinner, celebrating the successful conquest of the mighty Himalayas and the Kingdom of Mustang.
Day 12: Departure from Kathmandu
After a final breakfast, enjoy your transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM) for your onward journey, carrying the dust of Mustang and the spirit of the Himalayas.
